CUI Design for Fashion Retail Industry
The essential takeaway of this CUI design for me is how to keep focusing on enhancing user experience rather than being fascinated by "the voice" itself through the whole service development process.

Design Process
/ 1 RESEARCH
Prior to the start of design process, we conducted a competitive analysis of current CUIs and their offerings within retail store domain.




/ 2 IDEATION
According to the research and our own shopping experiences, we generated a minimum of 10 exploratory usage scenarios, based on the user’s intentions or goals and discussed conversational interaction between the user and the CUI.








/ 3 Experience Prototype
With an integrated idea, the team then conducted an experience prototyping session, through which we acted as the voice and invited users to go shopping with our assistances. We recorded the whole user testing process and use it to improve feedforward, pre-attentive prompts, utterances, responses, error recovery and session termination.








/ 4 Model Refinement
Before the final video sketch, we refined our CUI function model based on insights generated from experience prototyping to provide our CUI a solid performing structure.




/ 5 FINAL CONCEPT
To illustrate our design in a limited time length without coding, we decided our final iteration would be a video sketch, both visual and verbal representation will be provided.
